31 per cent growth in gem export
The gems and jewellery exports grew by 31 per cent in October to Rs 12, 979. 19 crore as compared to the corresponding period last year, as per data from an industry body. In October 2009, the total exports stood at Rs 9907. 61 crore, according to data from the Gems and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC).
MNP starts in Haryana
Mobile Number portability (MNP) service kick started on Nov 25, in Haryana. Within 2011 this service will start operating across India. In India, there are more than 700 million mobile users. In this service the mobile user can switch to other service provider without changing the mobile numbers.
Toyota is all set to launch Etios
Toyota is all set to make a pitch for the Indian car market as it launches Etios, the entry-level sedan, at an aggressive entry price of around Rs 5. 25 lakh. The car, the most ambitious product from Toyota's stable, has been specifically designed keeping in mind India and other emerging markets and will take on well-established models like Maruti Dzire, Tata Indigo and Honda City.
