When she refused, he burglarised the house, stealing 1. 75 million yen ($20, 000), and drowned the housekeeper in a nearby lake. He was convicted and sentenced to life in prison in September, 2005

A middleweight boxer and member of the New Jersey Boxing Hall of Fame, he was charged in 1966 for multiple homicides. He was convicted and sentenced to life in jail. In 1985, the conviction was overturned and he was released after a judge ruled he had not received a fair trial. His life inspired a Bob Dylan song and a film starring Denzel Washington
