Janhvi Sinha, whose bio-data recently hit the marriage market, is an unlikely social activist. An employee of the Maharashtra Economic Development Council, Sinha can often be found, in the thick of the night, sitting at her desk with a look of gleeful vengeance on her face, silently aiming an assortment of chappals, rolling pins and pressure cookers at any prospective groom who dares to demand dowry. "I derive a lot of pleasure throwing a red stiletto at a dowry monger, " she says with great satisfaction. Sinha is a self-confessed addict of Angry Brides, the anti-dowry Facebook application. "People don't talk much about dowry these days but it is very much a live issue for people looking to get married, " Sinha says.
