'Boredom is inexcusable in a relationship'

When it comes to love, brawny actor VIDYUT JAMWAL is quite like the romantic Bollywood hero

Would you ever do a role that betrays your beliefs?
I am an actor and I would love to be versatile.

Can you tell us some of your all-time favourite romantic roles?

I love romantic movies with a twist such as Desperado.

What's your definition of love?

Love should be unconditional and should come naturally.

Which comes first - love or sex?

I would ask, chicken or egg?

Do you think love will ever be dated?

Love is eternal. Till there is life, love will exist.

How important is being in love to you?

Love is the most important thing. It is the investment one makes which can never fail.

When you are in love, what are the
things you love to do?
When I am in love, I would do everything that would please her and everything that she would dream of and more so that she never stops expecting a surprise.

Is marriage necessary?

Love is necessary and much more important than marriage but if two people love each other and marriage follows, nothing like it.

What is your take on extra-marital affairs?

To each their own.

Shouldn't marriages come with expiry dates? Or, better still, a return and exchange policy?

Marriage or love is not a commodity that can be exchanged over a shelf. It can have new forms, can evolve, but there is no expiry date for marriage in my book.

To what extent will you go to save
your relationship?
If a relationship deserves to be saved, I will cross all boundaries.

What would you not forgive in love?

I would not be able to forgive boredom.

Is monogamy unnatural?

Depends how much one is in love. If boredom settles in, one tends to look outside. I would be quite content being monogamous though.

When a man and a woman fall in love, who do you think should make the first move?

Anyone can make the first move. I don't believe in the old-fashioned "men should make the first move" belief.

What qualities are you looking for in your partner?

A strong sense of integrity and I love independent women.

Do you believe in love at first sight?

Of course!

Tell us about your first love/crush?

I used to walk her to school carrying her books and amuse her.

Have you ever used pick-up lines? If yes, did they work?

I generally don't use them but once I did and it worked. She was sitting with a large group of friends and I walked up to her, and said aloud, "Either you sit with them and get bored all night, or join me for coffee right now. " And she did!

You have won a large female following. Any crazy fans?

A girl landed at my doorstep with a bouquet of red roses, went down on her knees and asked me to marry her. I was embarrassed and blushed.

Are you single? If not, how did you know s/he was the one?

I am very much single as of now.

What's the best part of being single?

No one's watching over you 24/7.
