While omega-3 fatty acids were found to increase agreeableness and reduce impulsivity, TFA was found to cause impatience, irritability and overt aggression

A six-year study by Spanish researchers found that people who ate more of it were at greater risk of depression than those who had smaller amounts of the terrible T's. It turns out the unnatural fats make one feel down in the dumps because they cause inflammation in the heart and brain. Consuming olive oil has the opposite effect

Dr Gene Bowman and his colleagues studied 104 seniors with an average age of 87 years. They found that those with higher levels of the fat in their blood had smaller brains. People who ate more of them also scored lower on thinking and memory
