Restaurants that fill you up without emptying your pockets Delhi | The Biker's Cafê.
Swing a leg over the beast. And ride on. That's any biker's mantra. But ask a biker who has stepped into The Biker's Cafê at Vasant Kunj in New Delhi and he would tell you that when he swings a leg over the black leather Royal Enfield seat, he's in no mood to ride on. He wants to fuel his own engine with a Muscle Soother (fresh juice), Cholesterol Buster (fruits and herb juice that bust cholesterol) and Roadies Salad (greens in chaat masala). He can get Saddled & Steamed (steamed vegetable dumplings) or Bull-ed On (chilly paneer). He can listen to the 1980s rock;ogle at motorcycle watercolours and nod his head at an aphorism painted on the distress-polished table: 'You'll never see a bike outside a shrink's office'.
Well, sure you don't. But at The Biker's Cafê that opens at 7. 30 a. m. , there are not only early morning bikers. Joggers, office goers and moms coming to drop kids to school head in for an always-freshly-made bite. There are no artificial colours or flavorings in an extensive menu that includes juices, pasta, pizzas, salads, burgers, waffles, sandwiches. Even a Thai curry with rice! Mutton burger and Bobby Brown omelette are the hot favourites. It was a dietician who concocted the Detoxify list that includes healthy juices like Immunizer, Eye Opener (great for eyes and skin) and Cardio Brainiac (takes care of your heart and mind).
The idea of an early morning cafê was born out of a hassle. Every time Sanjay Yadav, the owner, revved his Bullet for a morning spin, he'd return home hungry. There was nary a place for a decent breakfast.
At The Biker's Cafê, Yadav's love for the bike is absolutely palpable - a Bullet petrol tank hangs as an art piece, its headlight becomes a lamp, miniature Harleys are stacked on the shelf, bikes are handpainted on wooden tables and the stool seats are actual Enfield seats and suspension.
This is a cafê where the beast does not get fuelled. The chrome rests. The man's hunger gets ignited. It is he who gets the single-cylinder tune-up !
