NIA conducts searches at six places across Jammu in terror conspiracy case
JAMMU: The NIA Saturday carried out searches at six locations across Jammu in a terror conspiracy case registered on June 21, 2022, and seized several incriminating documents, digital devices and other materials from the premises of hybrid terrorists, cadres, overground workers and sympathisers linked with various newly-formed offshoots and affiliates of Pakistan-backed outfits.
A NIA handout said extensive searches were conducted at locations in Doda, Ramban and Kishtwar districts of Jammu in the case related to a conspiracy by the banned terrorist organisations such as LeT, JeM, HM, Al Badr and al-Qaeda, and their affiliates, to carry out attacks with sticky bombs, IEDs and small arms in Jammu and Kashmir.
The handout said NIA had registered the case suo motu and launched a crackdown on the terror network operated by these outfits and their offshoots such as The Resistance Front, United Liberation Front J&K, Mujahideen Gazwat-ul-Hind, J&K Freedom Fighters, Kashmir Tigers, People’s Anti-Fascist Front and others.
“Today’s searches were aimed at dismantling the terror network in Jammu province and scuttling the plans of the banned terrorist organisations to disturb the peace and communal harmony in J&K by radicalising local youth and mobilising overground workers,” the probe agency said.
