The remastered version of 'Ghilli' was re-released in theaters across the globe on April 20, and the film received a monstrous response from the audience.The 'Ghilli' re-release has completed 25 days of theatrical run, and the Vijay starrer has become the first re-released film to achieve the feat. 'Ghilli' makers shared a new poster celebrating the 25 days of the film and captioned it, "#Ghilli storms into its 25th day with unwavering occupancy across TN theaters, emerging as the true champion and savior of Tamil Nadu’s cinema halls!".

Theatres turned into festival arenas as fans enjoyed Vijay's 'Ghilli' to the core in theaters, while the celebration video surfaced on social media. According to a trade report from Cinetrak, 'Ghilli' has grossed around Rs 34 crore in its 25 days of re-release, and the total box office collection of the 2004 Tamil release is estimated to be around Rs 86 crore. 'Ghilli' is the highest-grossing re-released Indian film, and the first blockbuster of Vijay is also a blockbuster even after 20 years.
Directed by Dharani, 'Ghilli' features Vijay, Trisha, and Prakash Raj in the main roles, and the film has music scored by Vidyasagar.
