The rise and fall of an artiste doesn't have anything to do with talent. I believe that it is all the play of destiny. I sang Rang de Basanti for Rahman after he turned down four other singers' versions. He is not good with words. Maybe that is his biggest stumbling block.

KAMAL SABRI SA R A N G I A RT I ST E All artistes hit highs and lows. Give him the time and chance to prove himself again. He is too creative and intelligent to not re-surface. Maybe he was under too much pressure to cough up the CWG theme. My track Sahirain Sarangi Funkis actually a tribute to his brilliant theme music in Roja. He taught a lot of composers how to mix traditional music and technology.

You need a different perspective to enjoy Rahman's music. I have found that his music is loved even in places like Latvia and Lithuania. He has staggered the West with his talent. Only we Indians don't see it.

NAVIN IYER F L AU T I ST His music keeps changing and evolving all the time. You constantly hear him play with new sounds. This has been the stamp of his music since 1992. As a music lover, you have to make an effort to keep up with him. He is an icon for the youngsters. It is very cool to listen to him.

Why do you have to go to people like Aadesh Shrivastava for comments on hugely talented people like Rahman...Aadesh was always a person with zero talent. Crest was suppsoed to be with articles with good research...I fnd this "copy paste" from different sources...
