His voice could soar through four octaves, his writing was brilliant and his short life complex. This book, written without interviewing any of Freddie's three surviving Queen bandmates, fails to capture his music, dwells excessively on his gay sex life and often becomes a hodgepodge of names and trivia that's hard to keep track of. Only for fans who've already read the excellent bio by Peter Freestone.
