THE KITCHEN AID |

The kitchen aid is basically a stand mixer but in a way, it is a fully equipped kitchen in itself. It spares you strain and of course helps create great quality cakes. The kitchen aid also comes with add-ons such as pasta maker, grinder, ice cream maker, sausage stuffer and so on. It is not a cheap gadget but it stands in for many machines so that certainly makes it worth the price.

THE VITAMIX |

This is a high-speed blender and very new to the Indian market. It is a great way to ease processed foods out of your life because it can act as a blender, smoothie maker, food processor, ice cream maker and grinder. I found myself making my own spaghetti sauce with my own garden vegetables taking no more than a minute to blend it up. I can chop up my chicken for my chicken soup straight in the Vitamix. I can make hot soups in less than four minutes using natural ingredients which I can pour right out of the container and ready to eat. One of our favorites is fruit ice cream made with nothing but frozen strawberries, sugar, and milk. I've also mixed up quiches, pies and cakes just using my Vitamix. One of the advantages of this gadget is that it is so high powered it can say pulverise the peel of the fruit as well as the seeds into a great juice.

THE PHILIPS AIR FRYER |

This is a boon for those who love deep fried stuff but would like it to be low on calories and fat. The air fryer uses something called the rapid air technology, which involves the use of hot air to cook the kind of meals that would traditionally need dunking in a deep fryer or a kadai full of oil. By circulating air up to 200 deg C around food like chips, chicken, fish and pastries, it browns the dishes but uses up 80 per cent less fat. Oven ready French fries can be cooked to a crisp in nine minutes.
